Chapter 16
Humanities Tennessee's online journal of Tennessee books, writers, and literary events, founded in 2009 and serving as the state's Center for the Book.
Chapter 16 is an online journal about books, writers, and literary events in Tennessee. Humanities Tennessee founded it in 2009, after newspapers across the state cut their book coverage. It serves as the Tennessee Center for the Book, an affiliate of the Library of Congress’s Center for the Book.
It covers books set in Tennessee and writers who live, were born, or studied in the state, as well as visiting writers who read here. Alongside reviews, essays, features, and interviews, it publishes original poems by Tennessee writers, and a weekly list of author events across the state.
It publishes 44 weeks a year, with a weekly newsletter. Its editor is Maria Browning.
